History

Baton Rouge's oldest continuously active general contracting firm, Buquet & LeBlanc was established in 1945 by Al Buquet and Elegie LeBlanc. Buquet & LeBlanc quickly established a reputation of quality, integrity, and dependability.

Robert M. Stuart and Curtis L. Patton joined the company in 1955, eventually assuming management and ownership positions. While guiding Buquet & LeBlanc through a period of substantial growth in the mid-1970’s, Stuart and Patton also transformed the Company from the "craftsman" approach of its founders into a management organization. This business organizational transformation kept Buquet & LeBlanc, Inc. well ahead of its competitors, enhancing its reputation as Baton Rouge's premier General Contractor.
Mr. Stuart and Mr. Patton began grooming their successors in the early 1970's by employing Alfred C. Pickett, William T. Firesheets, and Christopher N. Stuart. Since 1986, Buquet & LeBlanc has been owned and managed by Alfred Pickett, William Firesheets, Gary Noel, and Robert Bogan. Buquet & LeBlanc, Inc. has continued to grow and prosper since that time, celebrating 65 years of success in 2010.

Buquet & LeBlanc continues to provide career opportunities for its employees.  Plans are underway to ensure the continued development of young managers and the perpetuation of the legacy of Buquet & LeBlanc, Inc.
